So Just What is Checkpoints?

Checkpoints was founded originally in 2020 as a concept for keeping women safe while running late at night. Over the years, that original concept expanded and evolved into the Checkpoints of today. Now, its an all-encompassing application and project. The goal is to take an overall community approach to public safety, using other women as "safechicks" to ensure women are able to get to their destination safely.

Keeping Workers Accountable
Ensuring that people that come to work on your residence are safe. Have a plumber that makes you uncomfortable? You can rate them as making you uncomfortable. Trust your instincts! You have them for a reason.
Ensuring Women Avoid Tragedy
Safety meter for people in your life. Someone's a good one? Highlight them to other women. Abusive ex? Let other women know. We all have a limited time on earth, let's not make it shorter by a lack of knowledge.
Pick Me Up!
This allows for women escaping domestic abuse situations to get a neighbor there IMMEDIATELY, hopefully preventing harm while police are called.
Community Engagement
Community meet ups for late night runs! Need a gym partner? Perfect! How about a late night wine and art class? Art class locations, mommy meetups, and various community events!
Childcare
Find a trusted Babysitter in an emergency, Find a trusted Nanny or Childcare provider in your area, or help a fellow woman out in a crunch.
Featured "Safe Spaces"
"Safe Spaces" where women can feel especially safe/comfortable. Such as a women-run business, a gym that has a seperate workout area for women, or an organization that caters more towards women without being judgemental.
